Kristina & Nick: DIY winter wedding in Washington D.C.
Ceremony: Russian Orthodox cathedral of St. John the Baptist | Reception: Frosene Center, St.Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral | Photography: Sokolov Photography | Dress: collaboration of Mother-of-the bride and Tsyndyma | Cake: Julia Duke
We are so proud to introduce you to this wonderful couple and their wedding, which took place in Washington D.C. in early February. Kristina is a very good friend of ours and Nick, her fun & creative husband, just moved from NYC to Philadelphia. Since Washington DC is a staging post between two cities and Kristina's family lives in MD, they've decided that nation's capital would be a perfect location for their wedding.
As Kristina comes from a multicultural family, the couple chose to have the ceremony at Russian Orthodox Church followed by reception in Rustic-Russian style, which perfectly fits this creative couple. As for the dress, since the bride is a former model, she wanted to wear something special for her wedding day. A beautiful dress had been handsewn by mother of the bride and designed with the help of DC-based designer Tsyndyma Kroujilov.
Every little detail, from "birch-tree" cake and table centerpieces to blini appetizers, was a reflection of Russian culture and hospitality.
Please enjoy some of the best moments from this DC winter wedding!
